Biographie

Svenja Sommer est professeur associé au département Management des Opérations et Systèmes d'Information à HEC Paris. Elle est également directrice académique du MSc Innovation et Entrepreneuriat. Elle a obtenu son Ph.D. en Management à l'INSEAD (France).

Ses recherches visent à améliorer notre compréhension de la gestion efficace des projets liés à l'innovation et au développement de nouveaux produits. Plus particulièrement, ses recherches portent sur les questions relatives à la gestion de projets hautement incertains qui sont courants dans le domaine de l'innovation, sur la génération et la sélection d'idées en amont du processus de développement de produits, et sur les processus de développement de produits collaboratifs au sein des entreprises ou entre elles. Ses recherches ont été publiées dans des revues telles que Management Science, Organization Science et POM.

Elle est Senior Editor principale du département "New Product Development, R&D, and Project Management" de POMS et Associate Editor du département "Entrepreneurship and Innovation" de Management Science. Elle est également rapporteuse ad-hoc pour un certain nombre de revues, notamment Management Science, MSOM, OR, POM, Organization Sciences et Decision Sciences.

A HEC Paris, Svenja enseigne principalement dans le programme MBA et EMBA, y compris les cours fondamentaux en Management des Opérations et les cours optionnels sur le Supply Chain Management. Avant de rejoindre HEC, elle faisait partie du corps professoral de la Krannert School of Management, Purdue University.
