Employee and client engagement in social solidarity projects
EDF is a peculiar entity in France, as it used to be a company owned by the state and now is a limited company (“société anonyme”) with over 70% of shares still owned by the government. EDF is actively engaged in the social solidarity sector but is seeking to boost its impact both internally with their employees and externally with their customers.
For this project, Ana Maria Coric et Baptiste Leclerc mainly focused on academic research and field analysis in order to provide the company a comprehensive guide on how to enhance social solidarity actions. Students studied the complexity of clients’ and employees’ engagement to social solidarity, as well as how programs launched by EDF could attract such individuals.
The right strategy largely depends on the business in question and needs to be customized to fit their unique needs. Conducting interviews with employees helped us better understand the inner workings of a complex entity such as EDF.
Key conclusions and learnings
EDF gained an outsider view on their social solidarity actions and programs, as well as a complete overview of what competitors do in this sector.
