Michael LOY

Michael Loy is within HEC Paris an Associate Professor, the Executive Director of the LLM in Law & International Management, the Double Degree Master in Management & Business Law HEC Paris / Ecole de Droit de la Sorbonne (Université Paris 1) and the Tax & Legal Strategy Major at the “Grande Ecole” program (2020) and from 2016 until 2022 the Pedagogical Director of the Master 1 course of “Droit des Sociétés” at the “Grande Ecole” program. In 2015, he received the “BNP Paribas Pierre Vernimmen Teaching Award” (HEC Paris Affiliate Professors category).

He was admitted to the Paris Bar (Avocat à la Cour) in 1993 and after having worked for various law firms and, inter alia, at the Corporate Law/Mergers & Acquisitions department of the Paris and London offices of Allen & Overy from 2000 until 2011, he set up his own practice in 2012. In 2016 he joined the AXA Group as the Legal Head Corporate of AXA Partners and he became in 2018 the Company Secretary of AXA Partners SAS.

His areas of teaching and work cover the incorporation of companies, carrying-out their legal corporate obligations including addressing their corporate governance issues, drafting shareholders’ agreements, setting-up joint-ventures (JV) and handling Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) transactions.
