Biography
Bertrand Pointeau is an Associate Professor of Strategy and Business Policy at HEC Paris.
He teaches strategy mobilization and digital transformation in the school’s main programs: Grande Ecole, specialized Masters, MBA, Executive MBA and Executive Education. He is Academic Director of several executive development programs for large international corporations.
Before joining the academic world in 2017, Bertrand Pointeau had a long career as a Strategy Consultant at Bain & Company, first in Boston (90-93), then in Paris (93-98). He headed the Bain & Company office in Seoul from 1999 to 2003, before returning to France as a Senior Partner (03-18). He has advised major international groups in the industrial and B2B services sector on their strategy and transformation.
Bertrand Pointeau is regularly quoted in the business press. He is the author of Korea, Knowledge Exporting Nation, a report commissioned in 2002 by the Korean Minister of Industry (Maeil Kyungjae Editor). He is co-author of Stratégor, the HEC Paris textbook on strategy (Editions Dunod). In 2009, he received the Rossi Prize from the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences for his book L’Entreprise (enfin) expliquée aux Ados, published by Nathan.
Bertrand graduated from HEC Paris in 1982. He earned an MBA from the Wharton Business School (1990) and a Master in Law from Université de Paris II (1984).
