Executive Coach Marc Beretta’s New Book Explores Leadership and Human Development

Executive Coach Marc Beretta’s New Book Explores Leadership and Human Development

HEC Affiliate Professor Marc Beretta publishes a new book based on 20 years of experience as a coach of top executives. The book, “Leadership Landmarks: Going Behind the Scenes of Leadership and Human Development”, takes the reader behind the scenes of effective leadership and personal development.

About the book:

The book covers six leadership landmarks: being aware, agile, eco-friendly, demanding, kind, and co-visionary. In this book, the Academic Director of HEC’s Executive Programs, Marc Beretta, shares the fears and doubts of CEOs and top executives he instructed and his remedies to overcome them. In an interview for the influential book podcast LID Radio, the author explains his approach: “In ‘Leadership Landmarks,’ I wanted to focus on coaching purpose: how does one overcome vulnerabilities and obstacles? I wanted to give the floor to leaders, to allow them the opportunities to share their vulnerabilities and secrets, how they have triumphed over obstacles, and what lessons they have learned.”

With this work, Marc Beretta aims to help leaders develop the qualities and skills for a new style of leadership. “We need a new kind of leadership that’s more relevant to today’s environment, one that is kinder, more respectful, and that cares about resources of all kinds—natural or human ones,” the author shared.

About the author:

A dual French and Irish national with Italian and Greek origins, Marc Beretta is an expert in Coaching, Management & Leadership, and Personal Development. He provides leaders and executives, management committees, teams, and organizations with the necessary support to realize their transformation projects.

After his military service in the French Navy as an Officer, Marc held managerial positions in finance within large international groups (incl. Arthur Andersen, and LVMH). He then decided to focus exclusively on people. Indeed, after working in finance for major corporations for many years, he made a major switch by training to become a coach and opening his own international firm, Inis alga. He has taught students in the HEC Paris Executive Education programs since 2009. He has been a Master Certified Coach (MCC) credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) since 2017. He is a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) instructor.

You can already purchase the book here (released on June 27, 2024, in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia and on October 29 in South and North America). The book has made it to the 10 books short-listed for the Leadership Book of the Year 2024. More to come on November 15 in London.
