Ready for next year: 12 HEC Master's students receive prestigious Eiffel Scholarship

12 lucky international Master’s students at HEC Paris have been granted the Eiffel Scholarship for next year – a fund offering €1,181 a month, as well as abundant opportunities for travel and cultural experiences. Kunal Jain, incoming 2020/2021 student, details the many ways in which the scholarship will benefit him.

Established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to attract the world’s brightest minds to study in France, the Eiffel scholarship enables international students to maximize their time at HEC Paris, through significant financial aid (€1,181 a month), as well a plethora of cultural experiences, including trips, sports, and other outings. The scholarship also offers health insurance and a potential housing allowance.

“Not only is it a testament to all my achievements so far, it also shows the commitment of the French Ministry of Higher Education towards incoming international students, especially during such tough times.”

Of the twelve scholarship recipients, Kunal Jain, incoming 2020/2021 student from India, is passionate about the doors the scholarship will open for him: “I was thrilled to receive the Eiffel scholarship. Student loans and monetary constraints usually occupy a huge chunk of a student’s subconscious mind, but now I’ll be able to focus my entire attention on academics and other activities without having the stress of finances.”

Kunal calls out the travel opportunities as a highlight of the scholarship. As well as covering all travel costs to and from HEC from the student’s country of origin, the scholarship offers students exciting trips to destinations within France and elsewhere in Europe. He elaborates, “I might not have been able to travel as much without the scholarship due to an already tight financial situation. I want to travel as much as possible during my time at HEC, to immerse myself completely in the rich European culture.”

How to apply

Candidates applying to our 2021/2022 intake (opening in Autumn 2020) will be able to apply for the Eiffel scholarship. Candidates must apply during round one, or the China pre-selected Universities round to be considered.

Candidates must be 25 years old or below, and only non-French nationality applicants will be considered (applicants with dual nationality, one of which is French, are not eligible).
