Consultant - McKinsey & Company
The program allowed me to both improve my analytical skills and gain international exposure.
Learn how companies work
The Masters in Accounting and Financial Management is a well-rounded and stimulating program, which crosses over into several disciplines: accountancy, strategy and finance. During my gap year, I realized I was drawn to analytical projects but also needed to improve my knowledge of business finance. Mastering such knowledge is key if one wishes to properly interpret data regarding turnover, profit and capital, and thus understand the functioning and complexities of any company.
International opportunities
I thoroughly enjoyed majoring in Accounting and Financial Management as the program allowed me to both improve my analytical skills and gain international exposure. I spent my second semester at the University of Bocconi in Milan, through a joint degree with CEMS, which was particularly enriching and rewarding. My year group united people from 20 different countries and I was able to study a wide variety of well-rounded courses. I also relished the opportunity to take part in a business project for an Italian e-commerce website. The major in AFM allowed me to get the best out of two world-class schools and develop a significant interest in the retail and luxury industries.
Fantastic career prospects
The breadth and depth of the course makes its graduates highly coveted amongst employers and boosts your career prospects. I chose to go into consulting after graduating from HEC as I wanted to be involved in important projects making a considerable impact across various industry sectors. I enjoy the range of assignments I am given as well as the outlook that they have allowed me to develop. McKinsey & Co offers plenty of opportunities for personal growth thanks to a fantastic mentoring system within the office.
