What motivated you to pursue your Master’s at HEC Paris?
I was particularly drawn to HEC Paris because of its strong alumni network and its sustainability-driven program. The blend of theoretical and practical approaches is what truly sets it apart. The SASI program's diverse tracks, such as entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, provide tailored educational paths that align with varied career aspirations. The study trips and seminars are another unique aspect, offering real-world exposure while fostering strong bonds among classmates. These experiences are not only educational but also build a tight-knit community within the cohort, making the learning journey both enriching and unforgettable.
Is there anything you wish you had known before applying or during the application?
One key insight I wish I had grasped earlier is the importance of storytelling in the application process. Understanding how to effectively tell your story, showcasing your journey, challenges, and aspirations, is crucial. It's not just about listing achievements but weaving them into a coherent narrative that reflects your identity and goals.
What was your biggest challenge during your application journey, and how did you overcome it?
The most daunting aspect for me was managing interview stress. To tackle this, I reached out to ambassadors and alumni of the program, which not only helped me gain insights into what to expect but also boosted my confidence. Engaging with people who have been there is always helpful.
How did you prepare for your HEC Paris interview, and what would you recommend others focus on?
Preparation for my HEC interview involved extensive research about the program, reflecting on my personal and professional experiences, and understanding how they align with HEC's values and offerings. I recommend that others focus on articulating their unique story and how the program fits into their career trajectory. It’s also beneficial to practice speaking confidently and clearly about your experiences and aspirations.
If you had one piece of advice for applicants, what would it be?
I really believe that everything happens for a reason. Embrace the belief that "everything is meant to be." Approach each step of the application with a positive mindset and confidence. Do your best. Whether you get accepted or not, each outcome leads you toward where you are supposed to be.
