Throughout the program, the MSc Strategic Management at HEC Paris excels at bringing leading researchers together with some of the best minds in the industry

Prior to HEC, I completed a BSc in International Business at Copenhagen Business School, the most selective undergraduate programme in Denmark. Here my studies included an exchange semester at National University of Singapore during my fifth semester. Additionally, I previously held the position of Associate Consultant Intern with Bain & Company.

Why I chose HEC Paris

Choosing between world-class business schools can be challenging, but HEC Paris quickly became my first choice due to its excellent quality of education. Its razor-sharp focus on bridging theory with unique insights from experts really appealed to me, as did the strength and diversity of its student body, and the flexibility of the curriculum.

A mix of theory and practice

Throughout the program, the MSc Strategic Management at HEC Paris excels at bringing leading researchers together with some of the best minds in the industry. This unique mix ensures that classroom learning is full of theoretical discussions and provides students with fine-tuned analytical skills and business sense, which are perhaps the two most valuable skills students take away from the program.

Strength and diversity of the student body

By bringing together top students from first-tier academic institutions around the world, the program facilitates an environment in which students often find themselves at the brink of their comfort zone, both academically and culturally. This, however, takes place in a collaborative environment in which students learn as much from each other as from professors.

Flexibility of the curriculum

Apart from building a solid academic foundation through the core courses of the program, students are able to shape most of the program according to their strengths and interests. For instance, students can choose between taking on a variety of electives or working closely with a company on a challenging strategic agenda. At the end of the program, HEC Paris offers ‘certificates’, which are 6-week intensive courses within a specific topic, such as M&A, Digital Transformation or Luxury. These certificates give students an edge over other entry-level professionals.

Program highlights

My program highlight was the study trip to London at the very beginning of the program that included several company visits, social activities and late night dinners. I also look forward to taking on the Luxury Certificate, which I think will be of great interest to me.

After graduation

Post-graduation I will take up a position with The Boston Consulting Group.
