Why did you decide to join this HEC Paris Master?
I decided to join the AFM Master program because I had the opportunity to participate in an exchange program at HEC Paris during my third year of bachelor's study, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately, the pandemic disrupted my plan, and I had to complete the semester online. To make up for this missed opportunity, I decided to apply for the master's program at HEC Paris.
What are your biggest takeaways from the program?
I gained a deeper understanding of accounting principles and financial management techniques, enabling me to analyze and interpret financial data effectively. I also enhanced my analytical and problem-solving skills through case studies and group projects. Most importantly, the program fostered my ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams, improving my interpersonal and communication skills.
What is your current job? What types of responsibilities do you have?
I currently work in the Sustainable Finance Graduate Program at BNP Paribas. As part of this program, I am undergoing rotations. In my first rotation, I mainly worked on Sustainable Linked Loans (SLL) and Green Loans (GL) structuring and ESG reporting. In my current rotation, I am primarily engaged in thematic research related to Sustainable Finance.
How did you find your job?
I discovered the job opportunity through a LinkedIn post shared by a program manager at HEC Paris. The post immediately caught my attention as it aligned perfectly with my career interests in sustainable finance.
How did the program help define your career path and secure your job?
Through the program, I completed a business project on Energy Transition, earned a certificate in Climate and Business, and conducted my thesis on topics related to sustainable finance. These experiences not only deepened my knowledge and understanding of the field but also demonstrated my commitment to potential employers. They were impressed by my experience and academic achievements, which ultimately helped me secure my position.
What are your long-term career aspirations, and how will having the AFM Master help you achieve your goals?
My long-term career aspirations revolve around renewable energy and international development, particularly in emerging markets. The AFM Master program equips me with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue these aspirations. The program's course and seminars on sustainable finance, along with the business project, certificate, and thesis related to this field, have provided me with a solid foundation.
