New Horizons Capstone
The New Horizons Capstone allows students to apply classroom-taught knowledge and research to develop their own analytical toolbox, to peer into possible futures and to determine what realities are changing faster than businesses and industries may realize.
Explore your New Horizons
Peer into possible futures and determine what realities are changing faster than businesses and industries may realize.
The New Horizons Capstone is made up of three timely workshops, designed to help participants connect what they learned throughout their MBA to produce groundbreaking and impactful insights for businesses. It will explore how companies are doing business in an increasingly polarized world and help participants broaden their horizons by exposing them to newer trends and question their way of doing business and leading in this polycrisis world. During the workshop, students will connect with a broad community of experts with similar interests.
The workshop consists of three parts:
- New Horizons Workshop I: Learning & Discovery Expedition
In this workshop students will go to a place where business as usual isn’t going to work. They will reflect on how representative this is of broader ongoing global changes and how businesses can adapt and thrive.
- New Horizons Workshop II: Solving Business Challenges (…in the Shoes of a Consultant)
In this workshop, participants will think about the problem and how they want to fix it. Capgemini consultants will work with students to help them think about the problem constructively and in a structured way.
- New Horizons Workshop III: Surfing on Uncertainty
In this workshop students will meet with radical innovators to help students figure out how to peer into the future. Capgemini will work with students to present new ideas constructively and convincingly. These experts will empower students to own uncertainty and to act on it.
The Goal of the Capstone
The capstone should help the participant formulate concrete recommendations (for an industry, for a company or for a broader institution) which need to be both bold and implementable. It should also focus on participants' personal transformation by discussing how this question has shaped their thinking about their professional future.
When:
The New Horizons Capstone takes place during the fundamental phase of the program. It is an ideal way to gain experience in a new sector and/or job function. Capstones are carried out individually, and the course represents 9 ECTS credits.
