Business and Climate Change

Kevin-Hayne

This program is a must for anyone who is considering a career in any aspect of energy industries such as renewables, fossil fuels, electricity etc.

This unique program commences with a quick intensive overview of the most important climate models before launching into in-depth overviews of the various energy industries. These overviews provide the knowledge required to perform various business tasks in energy-related fields, whether it be from a management, markets, trading, or other perspective. The program culminates in a group research project/presentation which allows students to explore a specific topic of their choosing in greater depth.

Some unique traits of this class at HEC Paris include the diversity of perspectives brought to group work by an international class, a stellar professor and guest lecturers from experts and leaders in the industry, and the mix of lectures and practical elements such as group projects and case studies.

This program is a must for anyone who is considering a career in any aspect of energy industries such as renewables, fossil fuels, electricity etc. The program is also appropriate for people who are curious about these topics, but have little background in them, since the course explains the basics before going into more detail. I, for example, did not have much of a background in the topic, but after taking the course I discovered an interest which I will be pursuing in an internship this summer. I am excited to be able to apply the information in a professional context.
