The Fashion Management program at HEC is a fast, high-quality gateway towards the understanding of the fashion industry and market.
The experience offered me a deep insight on what creating, managing and working in a fashion company – be it luxury or mass market – means. The lessons were often held by outstanding guest speakers, which provided an interesting "behind-the-scenes" perspective of the industry. These seasoned speakers typically guided us through both theoretical frameworks and practical terms, putting into practice the notions through real case studies. This method allowed me to truly understand the topics we dealt with in class and kept the learning process fast-paced and exciting.
Apart from the academic excellence that distinguished this experience, there are several values added to the program that made it unforgettable. Firstly, the international community: the student body counted several countries of origin. This provided many different points of view on the topics tackled in class, allowing us to have a global perspective and to think with broader horizons. Moreover, the different academic and professional backgrounds of the students made each lecture even more insightful. With classmates pursuing several types of specialization - from design to business - we could benefit by learning from their contributions to the discussions.
I probably couldn't list everything that made my stay at the HEC Paris Summer School and the participation in the Fashion Management program so special. I attended this course during my undergraduate studies in order to discover which field I should direct my efforts to in the next chapter of my academic life. I can honestly say that the program has been incredibly helpful in clearing my mind and allowing me to follow my path with certainty.
For all of these reasons I would recommend that anyone interested in a career in fashion, or just to anyone curious enough to pursue this interest, attend this program. The experience is complete and fulfilling, both academically and humanly, and it is the best way possible to briefly but deeply immerse yourself in this world.
