Miso (H.18)
Miso is a remarkable Korean student who received an excellence scholarship to study at HEC Paris.
She is now in her gap year, doing an internship at Publicis, as an international digital assistant working for a jewellery brand making luxury watches.
“My studies at HEC have really helped me in two aspects, maximising my potential to work in a multicultural environment and my critical thinking. At HEC you meet people from all around the world, which really gives you an international perspective. Right now, I am part of an international team composed of fifteen nationalities working on international projects.
Thanks to my HEC experience, it was easier for me to get along in this context. HEC has also given me the opportunity to question everything.
As you may know, Asian education is about giving information, but it doesn’t encourage students to question the theories they learn. On the contrary, at HEC, our professors ask for our opinion, something that was not natural to me. They helped me develop my own personal thinking.
On top of that, there are many friendly events at HEC and wonderful associations on the campus, which I encourage everybody to join. I am very grateful to HEC Foundation’s donors. For international students, coming to the HEC Master in Management program is a big investment.
One of my main considerations in the process was the opportunity to have a scholarship. By receiving it, it not only helped me financially: it also gave me a sense of belonging, a sense of community, a heritage. I hope that I will live up to these HEC standards and come back one day as a donor, continuing this virtuous circle of HEC Foundation.”
