HEC Business Game 2018

The HEC Business Game (HBG) is one of HEC Paris’ most anticipated events of the year, attracting over 200 enthusiastic students from across the world to the lively hub of real-life case competitions.

Over the space of two consecutive days, students work together in diverse teams to solve two challenges per day, before a pitching session in the afternoon. The groups’ activities are also fuelled by a constant diversity in team members, as students change groups between each challenge. This creates a flow of ideas and allows students to interact with a wide range of participants.

This year’s edition of the HBG saw challenges on topics such as Cyber-Crisis Management, and ‘rethinking the world of retail’, boasting partnerships with Bain and Company, ABInBev, EdenRed and Wavestone. As a consequence of such partnerships, the event is also the perfect opportunity for students to network, not only with their peers, but also with influential businesses and to show their potential through a variety of challenges. The HEC Business Game 2018 rounded off with a final ceremony at the end of day 2, before leading on to a dinner and the chance to network on campus, and later a party in Paris.

One of the most valuable prizes given at the Business Game is the chance to attend one of HEC Paris’ Summer School programs. This is an unmissable opportunity, where students can be taught by HEC professors and get an insight into cutting-edge topics from those who know it well. There are over 10 programs offered such as finance, inclusive and social business, entrepreneurship, business and geoplitics and more.

The HBG event provided participants with an unforgettable and inspiring experience. Past participants have shared that the opportunity to network and learn from fellow students was one of the main highlights, in addition to the chance to propose compelling solutions to a diverse set of real-world challenges.
