The world at a glance with HEC in The UK: An innovative virtual boarding!
On March 24 & 25, the HEC in the UK office organized the first HEC virtual world tour with the support of other HEC representative offices all over the world. For this first edition, students from the Strategic Management Programme enrolled for a virtual trip to Abidjan (Ivory Coast), London (UK) & Boston (USA).
Three virtual stopovers: Cémoi, Big Mamma & Home Exchange
First stopover: Cémoi factory! We have been hosted by the Management Team, Lona Ouali, Souleyman Soro and Raphael Konnan. It was great to learn more about the production of cacao and get a sense of what happens ‘backstage’, and hear about the sustainability projects. Here is their website: https://group.cemoi.com/know-how/cocoa-network/
Second stopover: Big Mamma and Napoli Gang. Students met the CEO of this exciting company, Benjamin Thouverez. It was great to learn more about how to develop a brand restaurant and a concept and how the new concept Napoli Gang was created. Go check Big Mamma and Napoli Gang websites.
Third stopover: Home Exchange in Boston (USA) with the founder & CEO, Emmanuel Arnaud (H.03). He shared his entrepreneur’s journey, from being a HEC’s student to founding a successful company and managing it between two continents. You can check (and register your house if you’d like!) on their website here.
An impressive virtual speed mentoring evening with our Alumni
On Wednesday evening, 40 alumni mentors were gathered to share authentic and kind career recommendation to our students. The meeting happened on Remo, an innovative networking platform recreating a cocktail room, so students could meet alumni at ‘virtual tables’ and hear their pearls of wisdom!
As HEC Student Juliette Quellec told us: “I was really happy to take part in the speed mentoring evening, which was a new demonstration of the HEC network's strength. This was a thrilling opportunity to meet inspiring alumni from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of career advancement. It was very helpful to be exposed to people who are very experienced to get their advice on how to have a meaningful impact in our job, as well as younger alumni who are very close to our early career concrete perspective. We notably had insightful conversations about how to handle the enthusiasm to ask so many questions in your first job and how to manage pressure. A big thank you to all the alumni who spent time with HEC students.”
Thank you to the HEC representative offices
A huge thank you to the HEC Middle-East & Africa Office for your enthusiasm and for virtually hosting our session in Abidjan. And many thanks to Vincent Muzelle, Director of HEC USA Office for vitually hosting our session in Boston. A few words from him: “The Digital World Tour was the perfect occasion to demonstrate the strength of the HEC network around the globe and to leverage the asset that HEC Offices abroad represent. Always a pleasure to cooperate with the London team and I am looking forward to participating in the next session!”
