London Finance Virtual Trip – Second Edition

Students from the MSc International Finance and MSc Financial Economics kicked off their year with a Virtual Trip to London! Over 40 prestigious companies participated and met HEC Paris Students in the course of 4 very intensive days.

Networking session

Networking session on Thursday evening on REMO platform, with more than 60 Alumni connected! On the picture: Lauren Onthank, Deputy Director of HEC UK Office – Delphine Mourot, Director of HEC UK Office, Ferdinand Petra, Associate Professor at HEC Paris, and Wendy Degremont, Program Manager at HEC UK Office.

During this trip, our 270 students had the opportunity to learn more about the culture of each financial institution, the variety of jobs and sectors, and to exchange with senior and junior team members of these companies.

The trip included a virtual networking evening with more than 60 HEC Paris alumni working in Finance. A huge thank you to all of them for their time and the precious advice to the students!   The event took place on Remo, a virtual networking platform that allows close to real-life networking.

This annual flagship event reinforces the link between financial institutions based in London and HEC Paris and boosts their attractivity as employer to future HEC Paris graduates – it is a key step in our students’ journey to finance.

The event was organized by the HEC UK Office team, who represents HEC Paris in the UK and has deep longstanding relationships with financial institutions in London – the students highly rated their trip, with an average satisfaction rate above 88%!

Companies and financial institutions also highly appreciated the experience: “We were really impressed with the level of engagement from the students, there was such a good participation during the case study and students asked insightful questions”

London Virtual Finance trip

One word to describe this edition of the London Virtual Finance trip? WordCloud from the students.

For our students, this virtual trip is a key step in their curriculum and their feedback highlights the opportunities it has opened to them: “Amazing and very prestigious companies”, “A lot of different insights, getting to know new people and job possibilities”, “I enjoyed the small sessions and the sessions with firms that I had very little prior knowledge about”, “Great organization, Thank you HEC UK Office!”

The HEC in the UK Office is looking forward to welcoming these students again as young finance professionals in London in the forthcoming year and seeing them join their vibrant alumni community in London!
