11 HEC Master's students receive Eiffel Scholarship this year

The Eiffel Scholarship Program of Excellence -- a fund awarding €1,181 a month to eligible candidates -- was awarded to 11 international Master’s students this year at HEC Paris.  The fund provides a generous allowance to foreign students who want to study in France and includes abundant opportunities for travel and cultural experiences. Aleksa Deric, an incoming 2021/2022 Masters in Finance student, describes the many ways the scholarship will contribute to his success.

Established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to attract the world’s best and brightest to study in France, the Eiffel Scholarship enables international students to maximize their time at HEC Paris, through significant financial aid (€1,181 a month), as well a plethora of cultural experiences, including trips, sports, and other outings. Among its perks, the scholarship also offers health insurance and a housing allowance.

One of this year’s scholarship recipients, Aleksa Deric, incoming 2021/2022 Master in Finance student from Italy, is passionate about the doors the endowment will open for him, including its own alumni network: “Connecting with many potential employers, mentors and interesting people from around the world with whom I have this specific thing in common – the Eiffel Scholarship.”

For many recipients, travel opportunities are a highlight of the scholarship. As well as covering all travel costs to and from HEC from the student’s country of origin, the scholarship offers students exciting trips to destinations within France and elsewhere in Europe.

Scholarships also encourage students to be financially independent during their time at HEC Paris, a fact that Aleksa is grateful for. “This sense of freedom allows me to be much more motivated to pursue my goals and excel in class.”

“I believe that scholarships such as the Eiffel one are crucial for facilitating and encouraging foreign students to pursue their studies in France. Eiffel promotes the idea that “education should be accessible to everyone”, which I find very important nowadays as it is key for the world to move forward.”

HOW TO APPLY

Candidates applying to our 2022/2023 intake (opening in October 2021) will be able to apply for the Eiffel scholarship. Candidates must apply during round one, or the China pre-selected Universities round to be considered.

Candidates must be 25 years old or below, and only non-French nationality applicants will be considered (applicants with dual nationality, one of which is French, are not eligible).

Eiffel Scholarship applications open September 28th.
