Admissions Admissions

Students come to HEC Paris not just to learn, but also to share their knowledge and experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment. If you are ready to prepare for a leading role in the future of business, we want to hear from you.

Apply

How do I apply?

You can apply throughout the year, to begin your MBA journey in either January or September. Our rolling admissions process guarantees you a quick response to your application. Five weeks after the application deadline, you will know if you are admitted to the program.

The Five-Week Application Process

The HEC Paris MBA is proud to have a 5-week application process

If you are looking for feedback on your HEC Paris MBA potential or want more information about the program, you can connect with us before starting the application process.

Connecting with us through our online form helps us to get to know you better and learn where you are in the MBA process. Filling it out takes about 5 minutes and you have the option of attaching your CV. Use the comment box if you want to tell us more and/or ask questions.‌ In the following days, you will receive personalized feedback and next steps from your region's Marketing & Recruitment Manager. You will also receive information on invite-only networking events in your city.

The information you enter will not affect your formal application with us, so don't worry if you have not yet taken a GMAT/GRE: connecting with us is only a first step to help you on your MBA journey.

Before applying, decide which deadline you wish to apply for, and submit your application before that date in order to be considered. If you submit an incomplete application, this will cause a delay, and you may be notified that you have been moved to the next month’s jury.

Use our online application system to submit your application. An auto-save system is in place so that you can manage and edit your application at your own pace.

Please ensure that your application is complete by checking our Application Checklist before submitting. We double check our received applications to ensure that they are both complete and accurate.

After we receive your application, our Admissions Board will then meet for a Pre-Selection Jury. That's when we examine your application in detail. During the Pre-Selection Jury, we consider all of the formal aspects of your application: your educational background, your professional experience and your international exposure, as well as your essays and recommendation letters. Your application must show motivation to succeed and clear reasoning as to why you are applying to the HEC Paris MBA. All of these aspects are taken into consideration when deciding who to invite for the interview process.

If you successfully pass the Pre-Selection Jury, you will be invited for two separate interviews. Our interviewers are alumni of the HEC Paris MBA. We find that they truly understand what makes a strong MBA candidate and what it takes to succeed in our program.

The interviews are a great way for us to assess your communication skills, leadership potential, aspirations and values. They also help us understand who you are as a whole person, and help ensure that you will grow and thrive in the program.

Both interviews have equal weight in our decision-making process. Each one consists of a 10-minute oral presentation on the topic of your choice, followed by an in-depth discussion concerning your application. The interviews are in English.

Our interviews usually take place in the two weeks leading up to the final Admissions Jury, so plan to make yourself available during that period.

Once the interviews have been completed, our Admissions Jury will then review your application. Our Admissions Juries include representatives of the French Ministry of Education, HEC Paris Alumni and members of our HEC Paris Faculty, as well as the Dean of the HEC Paris MBA. Each member of the jury will fully review your application, including your essays, your letters of recommendation and the notes taken by our interviewers.

Hours after an Admissions Jury is held, a member of our Admissions team will notify you of your acceptance into the program. There are 12 Admissions Juries held during the year.

During the application process, you'll have the opportunity to apply for scholarships. Your Admissions Officer will help guide you through the process. We are able to offer students over €1,000,000 in aid every year thanks to donations from alumni and friends of the school, and the work of the HEC Foundation.
