Climate change and sustainable development is one of the most pressing issues that the world faces today, and something that will underpin the progress of our societies going forward. 

In this global context, the Business and Climate Change program at HEC Paris was the perfect orientation that was required to understand the fundamentals and the nuances of this rapidly evolving industry. 

The program was a fantastic opportunity not only to understand this field in detail, but also interact with such a diverse and talented cohort of peers. I am at a loss for words when I talk about Professor Jean-Michel Gauthier, whose phenomenal knowledge, and his characteristic ability to challenge the thinking of students with his energetic touch were key to such an enriching summer school experience. 

This summer program is perfect for all students and young professionals who have an interest in the field of sustainability. Coming from India, this program was particularly insightful as it delved into the intricacies of sustainable development and GDP growth with more efficient systems and a lower carbon footprint, something that is of utmost importance and takes centre-stage in discussions and policymaking in our country’s massive emerging market. 

It has been a privilege to study at one of the world’s leading institutions under the tutelage of some of the finest faculty. Also, the staff were hugely supportive in ensuring all the students had a positive and wholesome experience. Furthermore, the school’s proximity to the beautiful city of Paris gives students an opportunity to enjoy one of Europe’s (and the world’s) most beloved tourist destinations as well.
