This PhD colloquium is a two-day workshop targeted at doctoral students in an advanced stage of their dissertation research to foster interactions among students and professors. The three-day R&D Management Conference will feature approximately 400 researchers, presenting around 300 academic papers on 11 themes.
The PhD colloquium (HEC Campus, June 17 & 18)
The workshop is targeted at doctoral students in an advanced stage (2nd and 3rd year) of their dissertation research. The workshop will group 39 PhD students in order to favor rich and intense interactions among the students as well as with the professors involved. It will include a variety of panels, practical sessions on developing research agendas and launching academic careers, and a ‘meet-the-editors’ session.
The PhD Colloquium program features key sessions in which participants discuss their research in small groups with peers as well as with experienced industrial managers and senior academics.
On June 17th (Monday), from 9:15 am to 9:45 am, Kristine de Valck, Associate Dean and Director of the PhD Program at HEC Paris, will welcome the participants and present a talk on Conducting Impactful Qualitative Research.
During the discussion session on June 17, between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm, HEC PhD students Jing Niu (Marketing) and Claudia Schultz (Strategy) will be presenting their ongoing research (Jing on meta-analysis on the drivers and effects of participation in online communities, and Claudia on her first essay about CSR signals versus CSR capacity of the firm).
