Biography
Bernard Bourigeaud was responsible for the creation and development of one of the biggest global IT and payments services groups, called Axime, which started in 1991 with the merger of SITB, Sodinforg and Segin. At the helm of Axime, Bernard Bourigeaud transformed the company with a strong external growth policy: the creation of Atos following the acquisition of Sligos in 1996; the merger with Origin in November 2000; the acquisition of KPMG Consulting in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom in 2002; Schlumberger Sema in 2003; and finally of Banksys and BCC (Bank Card Company) in 2006.
When Bernard Bourigeaud left his office of Chairman, Atos Origin had a turnover of 5.6 billion euros and employed more than 55,000 people in over 50 countries.
Previously, he spent 11 years at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells, where he headed management consulting activities and then all business in France. Previously, he worked for 8 years in executive positions within the Continental Grain Group, including 5 years in the UK. Bernard began his career at CIC and Price Waterhouse. He holds a degree in accounting and a degree in economics and management.
Bernard Bourigeaud is currently Chairman of BJB Consulting, a consulting company founded in January 2008. Privately, he is also an investor in several technology companies based in Europe, whose development he supports.
Since January 2010, he has been an operating partner of Advent International, for which he provided consulting services for its technology, financial services and business services acquisition strategy. Since December 2011 he has been President of Oberthur Technologies Holding, the second largest player in the smart cards industry, a company in which he is a co-investor, alongside Advent.
He is also director of several publicly traded companies: CGI in Canada, Amadeus in Spain. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the New York investment bank Jefferies.
During the summer of 2011, he was appointed to the World Executive Committee of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
He is a member of the International Advisory Board of HEC Paris and an affiliate professor, and is in charge of the leadership center.
Bernard Bourigeaud is Chairman of CEPS (Centre for Study and Strategic Prospective), an international and independent think tank. He is a French Foreign Trade advisor. He was named Chevalier of the Legion of Honour in 2004.
Previous positions:
In addition to his duties for Atos Origin and its subsidiaries, Bernard Bourigeaud has also served as a boardmember for Business Objects, SMT, a subsidiary of KPM, Hagemeyer in the Netherlands, Neopost, Tibco Software in California and CCMX.
For 2 years, he was a member of the of the National Economic Commission.
In 2008 and 2009 he was senior advisor for Apax in France.
