Alain Bloch Publications Rewarded by the FNEGE and the Academy of Commercial Sciences
The National Foundation for the Teaching of Business Management, FNEGE, has rewarded Alain Bloch with its prestigious label for two of his books in the Essays Category. The Professor Emeritus in entrepreneurship at HEC Paris was also the recipient of the medal of the Academy of Commercial Sciences.
The books are "La pierre et l'édifice - Des flammes de Notre-Dame aux organisations hautement pérennes” ("The Stone and the Building - from the Flames of Notre-Dame to highly sustainable organizations", cowritten with Erwan Nabat (Economica, 2022)), and "Objectif Mars ! Petit manuel à l'usage des entrepreneurs qui rêvent de conquérir le monde" ("Objective Mars! Small Manual for Entrepreneurs who Eream of Conquering the World", co-authored with Bruno Martinaud (Pearson, 2022)). The latter also received the 2023 Award for best book, from the Academy of Commercial Sciences.
Alain Bloch holds a doctorate from Paris Dauphine University in Organizational Computing. He is an engineer and a graduate from the Military School of Saint-Cyr.
From 2007 to 2021, Alain Bloch was the Scientific Director of HEC Entrepreneurs. He was also the co-founder of the X-HEC Entrepreneurs Master, is a joint École Polytechnique-HEC Paris degree created in 2018. Alain also ran the HEC Family Business Center, founded in 2004.
From 1995 to 2015, he was professor and Chairholder of the “Commercial action and distribution” program at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. Alain’s own experience as an entrepreneur and leader led him to focus his research and his books on innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and the resilience of organizations.
In addition to his recent award-winning books, Alain’s research on family business resilience has been published in the Harvard Business Review in both English and in French, as well as on Knowledge@HEC.
