Tina M. Lowrey Elected President of the Association for Consumer Research
Tina M. Lowrey, Ph.D., Professor of Marketing at HEC Paris, has been elected and is currently serving as the President of the Association for Consumer Research (ACR). ACR is the premier academic association worldwide for the study of consumer behavior, and during her presidency, Professor Lowrey hopes to inaugurate a subcommittee to start documenting the history of the organization.
HEC Paris Marketing Professor Tina M. Lowrey received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and investigates various phenomena related to children’s consumer behavior, materialism, the application of psycholinguistic theory to marketing communications, and gift-giving and ritualistic consumption.

She currently serves on the Editorial Review Board of Journal of Consumer Psychology, International Journal of Research in Marketing, and Journal of Advertising. She also is a member of the Policy Board of JCR.
Tina has been a member of the Association for Consumer Research since 1988. As President Elect of the association, she performs the duties prescribed and approved by the Board of Directors and all of the duties of the President in his/her absence. The President-elect also appoints the chair(s) of the North American Conference for the year of his/her presidency. Professor Lowrey also hopes to inaugurate a subcommittee to start documenting the history of the organization.
