Double Degree with Tsinghua University
Course content
This HEC Paris-Tsinghua University double degree program - SEM Master - lasts 2 full years and hence gives access to a comprehensive curriculum.
HEC Paris’s students following the double degree with Tsinghua University, School of Economics and Management need to register at Tsinghua for 2 full years (year 2 and year 3).
In year 2, HEC Paris’ students take the total of 24 credits at Tsinghua, including:
- Mandarin in the fall
- Chinese culture and society in the fall
- Directional and elective courses in both fall and spring
- Program orientation and career development in the fall
- Thesis proposal submitted by the end of spring term.
In year 3, HEC Paris’ students do 40-week full-time consecutive internship, which counts also toward Tsinghua’s internship requirements. The internship could start as early as May of year 2 and continue into year 3.
HEC Paris’ students complete a HEC thesis in year 2 and 3 and a Tsinghua thesis in spring term of year 3.

- Internship (summer Semester between the first year and the second year): internship of a consecutive period of at least 10 weeks in the same company, with abroad experience strongly encouraged
- Skill Seminar (spring semester of the 2nd year): training seminars in practical skills relevant to an international management environment, jointly offered by Tsinghua SEM and partner company representatives
- Business Project (spring semester of the 2nd year): an 8-week Business Project tutored by the Academic Advisor and the partner company in parallel, by teams consisted of 3–5 MiM students
