Re-invention is at the heart of all our courses

With a double MSc. degree from Ecole Supérieure de Chimie Physique Electronique de Lyon and the University of British Colombia in chemistry, I came to HEC Paris with an expansive knowledge in the field of chemistry and polymer science. Passionate about research, I held a one-year internship position at Lanxess Elastomers (today Arlanxeo) in the Netherlands as a research assistant, and joined the Mehrkhodavandi research group at UBC later to study the synthesis of bio-based bioplastics.

A new academic challenge

HEC Paris has been a new challenge for me, the whole objective being: to get a completely new perspective of the chemical industry. Our program is focused on integrating sustainability into economic performance, as well as all organizational levels: strategy, finance, human resources, R&D or supply chain. Re-invention is at the heart of all our courses. Personally, I am particularly interested in the relationship between circular economy and the chemical industry, plastics especially.
This program is unique as it introduces new ways to see business and society. I particularly appreciated the philosophical aspect to the master’s that led me to reflect on my personal purpose and life projects, a challenge that I was not expecting at first when I joined the degree.

Student diversity

The great diversity of student profiles in the master’s is probably its strongest asset, every single one of us has a different story to tell, a different background and varied professional ambition. The only thing we have in common is a shared vision of the world.
HEC Paris is a very exciting place to study. Scholars, personalities, companies and HEC Paris will support you and open up many doors, regardless of your overall career goal.

Career prospects

In July, I will be joining SystemiQ to work on topics related to plastics and circular economy. SystemiQ is a new kind of enterprise designed specifically to tackle system failures by mobilizing talent and capital to cultivate, incubate and scale solutions that accelerate system change and deliver improved economic, environmental and social value.
