Eléonore Quint
MS/LLM Droit et Management International
What motivated you to pursue your Master’s at HEC Paris?
Coming from a dual background in law and finance, I was drawn to the program’s unique ability to seamlessly bridge these two disciplines. The MS/LLM Droit et Management International stood out for its focus on preparing future leaders capable of navigating both legal complexities and strategic business challenges on a global scale. The access to world-class professors, an extensive international alumni network, and the opportunity to engage in impactful "Law Projects" made it the perfect choice to advance my career aspirations.
What do you wish you had known before or during the application process?
I wish I had realized earlier how valuable it is to connect with people who’ve been through the process. Speaking to alumni or current students gives you insights you simply can’t find on the website—whether it’s understanding the program’s culture, what the school values most in candidates, or how to stand out. Those conversations will not only help you refine your application but also give you confidence in knowing you are on the right track.
What was your biggest challenge during your application journey, and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge was reconciling the fact that, after spending a year immersed in finance, I felt somewhat distanced from my legal background. I worried that this shift might make me seem less aligned with a program like the MS/LLM Droit et Management International. To overcome this, I focused on presenting my year in finance as a strength—an opportunity that allowed me to broaden my expertise and develop new skills. I positioned this experience as complementary to my foundation in law and as a reflection of my adaptability. Ultimately, by framing my background as a blend of disciplines rather than a divergence, I was able to demonstrate how my unique profile aligned perfectly with the program’s objectives.
How did you prepare for your HEC Paris interview, and what would you recommend others focus on?
For me, preparation started with identifying the unique aspects of my profile that aligned with both my professional ambitions and HEC Paris’ strengths. I focused on the synergy between the program and my goals, highlighting how it was the perfect environment to grow and how I could contribute to the school’s community. Rather than over-rehearsing, I focused on presenting my story with authenticity and confidence, trusting in the experiences that had shaped me so far. My advice? Don’t just prepare answers—prepare to inspire. Show how your journey connects to the program and let your passion shine through. Confidence and authenticity will always make you stand out.
If you had one piece of advice for applicants, what would it be?
My advice would be to stay true to yourself and trust your journey. Don’t feel the need to reshape your story to fit what you think the school wants. Instead, focus on highlighting what makes your background unique and valuable. And don’t hesitate to reach out to student ambassadors or alumni—we can provide invaluable insights into the program and help you feel more confident about your decision!
