HEC Paris is participating in the 4th edition of Africa’s CEO Forum which takes place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on March 21st and 22nd, organized by the “Jeune Afrique” media group.
Rodolphe Durand, Professor of Strategy, Business Policy and Academic Director of HEC Paris’ “Society and Organisations” research center (SnO), will be hosting the first plenary session of the Leadership forum, which will focus on leadership in a world in mutation. Durand will also act as a moderator during the event’s renewable energy workshop.
“Changes that have been taking place on the African continent as well as everywhere else in the world are not only economic and political. They should be considered first of all as so-called “organizational” transformations, influencing the coordination of decision and of human activities in front of major global issues. In this way management, as a discipline of organized action, makes complete sense, and as a leading management business school, HEC Paris has a key role to play” says Rodolphe Durand.
Organized by the “Jeune Afrique” media group in partnership with the African Development Bank and Rainbow Unlimited, the AFRICA CEO FORUM has established itself as the leading international event in the African private sector since its launch in 2012. Over 800 participants will be participating in this year’s edition, including 500 CEOs from across the continent, 100 bankers and finance executives. The event will also be attended by over 200 leading figures from Africa and beyond.
“Through its internationally-oriented educative mission, backed by a common history and culture, HEC Paris must deploy all its forces to form Africa’s future managers. It is the school’s duty to contribute to the development of African executives and to accompany the continent’s talents, who will decide Africa’s future”, underlines Peter Todd, Dean of HEC Paris.
HEC Paris has trained 20 000 executives in Africa so far and counts a 500 member Alumni community on the continent, while 350 active members are part of HEC Executive Clubs.
