Climate change is not just about getting the right technology. It is also about changing behavior and policies. And it is not (only) about the end of the world: it is also about the damage it does, today, mainly to poor people around the world.
In this talk, Professor Duflo will discuss some of what we know about the impact of climate change on poor countries, and what we know and what we do not know about changing behavior and policies.
Esther Duflo, is a MIT Professor (Abdul Latif Jameel Professor of Poverty Alleviation and Development Economics), Co-Founder and Co-Director of MIT's Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and Chair holder at the Collège de France (Pauvreté et politiques publiques).
In 2019 received the Nobel Prize in economic sciences with Abhijit Banerjee “for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty”
