HEC Tops FT Global Ranking for MiM in Historic Performance
The 2023 Master in Management world rankings published today by the Financial Times, has HEC Paris in the top position, rising from second place. This historic breakthrough follows the school’s long-term efforts to consolidate the excellence of its curriculum, its alumni career/talents development and the school’s student/faculty diversity categories.
“This newly-acquired ranking as world leader underlines the academic excellence of our Master in Management,” said Yann Algan, HEC Dean of Pre-experience Programs and Professor of Economics. “Our school offers a multi-disciplinary approach bringing together management sciences, data science and social sciences. The ranking also reflects the outstanding quality of the teaching staff, our student body, and the exceptional accompaniment for career development by our HEC Talents center.”
For the HEC director of Data Accreditations & Rankings, Omar El Arfaoui, the number one spot comes down to the school’s long-term consistency in several departments: “We enjoyed some outstanding performances in nine of the 16 criteria in the rankings,” he noted. These include HEC’s ESG teaching rank (in the world’s Top 5, and set to improve with the curriculum reforms instigated this term); the Alumni network (facilitating employment, supporting startups, etc); faculty members with PhDs; weighted salary (2023 sees a steep rise in the remuneration of HEC graduates); value for money (like the salary, an improvement which sees the school leap nine places); women representation (near to parity); the internationalization of our academics; and an equally international advisory board.
The FT MiM ranking combines responses from alumni with detailed school data using 16 criteria. Current salary and salary increase of alumni have the highest weighting. In the latter, HEC ranks fifth in the world, behind four business schools in India.
Algan underlined the overall commitment of the HEC staff to the school’s students: “All our teams mobilize themselves day in, day out, to offer the best possible experience to each student, both inside and outside class. HEC also prepares all students in their search for enlightened solutions to the major challenges of our times. This explains their exceptional employment prospects and their positive impact on organizations and society.”
The 2023 MiM FT classification has seen HEC in runner-up place since 2014. Last year, it consolidated its second position in this highly competitive field before reaching the top in 2023.
