Japan Chapter celebrates Mercure Prize awardee Mariko Magnan
On June 5, the HEC Paris Japan Office and the Japan Alumni Chapter threw an event in Tokyo during which Mariko Magnan (H.03), founder of TPO, received the 2023 Mercure Prize, the award for the HEC community best entrepreneurs. The startup she founded aims at helping workers manage the stress of their personal lives and improving their well-being at work by providing concierge services with the "Your Concierge" platform.
The Japan Alumni Chapter and Junko Adachi, Director of the HEC Paris Japan Office, organized a festive event at Hibiya Palace, a Tokyo restaurant, in early June. On this occasion, Mariko Magnan was put in the spotlight as she was awarded the Mercure 2023 first prize for East Asia.
Mariko Magnan is the founder of TPO, Inc., a corporate concierge firm that helps busy workers manage the stress of their personal lives and improve well-being at work by using the concierge platform “Your Concierge”. Throughout the 5 years of user experience, TPO has provided solutions to over 50,000 requests, and gained a customer base of over 30 major Japanese corporations such as Mitsubishi and NTT Data. Even though female-led startups in Japan are still rare, she has managed to grow her business rapidly thanks to her by her innovative ideas, and by engaging big Japanese corporations right from the beginning.
Created in 1999, the Mercure prize is a scheme organized by the HEC Alumni Association to promote and encourage entrepreneurial spirit and entrepreneurship within the HEC community. Its objective is to identify all HEC entrepreneurs throughout the world, and each year to celebrate those that have been the most noteworthy. For the first time this year, this Mercure prize edition was divided into 8 geographical areas to better highlight of the community's international scale, among which East Asia.
