EARTH WEEK 2022
Participate
This year, the new edition of the Earth Week will take place from the 7th of February to the 12nd of February. Organized by the ESP'R Association and supported by the S&O Institute and the Sustainability Fund, the Earth Week aims at promoting ecology as well as social and environmental initiatives to encourage French and International students, as well as HEC staff, to adapt their thinking and change their habits towards more sustainable and respectful behaviours. It will revolve around conferences, discovery workshops, movies, round-table discussions and meetings.
The fact is that today everyone has already heard about environmental issues and especially about climate. Paradoxically, we have not yet seen a big move within society…The ADEME shows that since 2006, the number of small daily environmental-friendly habits (like saving water) has plateaued or even decreased.
We agree that the world needs far more than recycling but we strongly believe that small gestures participate in changing the way we approach our future.
The aim is to make people aware of the great challenges we are facing: environmental but also social challenges. But we do not want the Earth Week only to give factual information about the environmental issues, also we want it to give some keys to rise to the challenges and initiate changes.
To do so, we are going to tackle several topics: biodiversity, politics, ecofeminism, climate, agriculture...
Everyone will find food for thoughts.
To sum up, the aims of the Earth Week are:
- raise awareness about certain (unknown) aspects related to environmental issues (like geopolitical aspects)
- give food for thoughts about the (desirable) futures we want
- show that alternative models to our current society model exist and work
- give hope, motivation and keys to make people participate in smoothing environmental damage and in creating new ways of living/thinking
The conferences and activities will be in French.
