ESP'R Association and the S&O Center are delighted to invite you to a unique conference with Gawad Kalinga representatives and partners!
“Gawad Kalinga,” translated in English means to “give care”, is an NGO whose main aim is to end poverty for 5 million Filipino families by 2024. Nothing less!
A Philippine-based movement, GK aims to end poverty by first restoring the dignity of the poor. It employs an integrated and holistic approach to empowerment with values-formation and leadership development at its core.
GKa has already succeeded in creating 2300 communities all over the country alleviating poverty for 1 million families by attracting donations from both private and public sectors.
To help communities be self-sufficient, GK launched in 2010 the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) to serve as an incubator for local and international social entrepreneurs and create jobs in the Philippines. To date, GK-CSI has incubated several successful social enterprises. Among them, "Human Nature" and "Plush & Play" (plush toys).
GK has also developed extensive public-private partnerships, and massive volunteerism. Major MNCs such as Shell, Nestlé, Unilever, Philips, Pfizer, AkzoNobel, Globe, Coca-Cola, IBM, Microsoft, HP, Hyundaï, AirFrance-KLM or Air Liquide work together with GK to support communities or projects.
