The Associations HEC Debats and ESP'R, Le Réveil Ecologique, and the S&O Center are pleased to invite you to the inaugural conference of Earth Week with energy and climate expert Jean-Marc Jancovici. The conference will take place on February 5th on the HEC campus.
Jean-Marc Jancovici is an engineer, specialist in the field of energy and climate, and consultant to various public and private organizations.
He is known for his work in raising awareness and popularising the issue of climate change and the energy crisis, and is a strong advocate of "carbon taxation", which he considers to be the only real solution to the twin problems of global warming and the future shortage of fossil fuels.
A former student of the École polytechnique (class of 1981) and graduate of the École nationale supérieure des télécommunications de Paris (1986), he became a consultant and has been working with ADEME since 2001 on the development of the carbon balance. He is the author of several books on the climate issue.
In 2000 he joined the Hulot Foundation committee. In 2001, as a consultant, he developed the carbon balance before creating the firm Carbone 4 with Alain Grandjean in 2007.
