Launch of the largest international need and merit-based scholarship program

On Tuesday, December 21 in Beirut, the HEC Foundation, CMA CGM and HEC Paris, officially launched the "CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Lebanon”, the School's largest ever international need and merit-based scholarship program!

CMA CGM Group, a global leader in maritime transport and logistics, HEC Paris and the HEC Foundation signed an ambitious program that will benefit future HEC Paris students from Lebanon. Each year, it will financially support some twenty high-potential Lebanese students, granting access to an outstanding international education they could not have otherwise afforded.

A country's future is built by its young people. To honor our Lebanese roots and commitment to education, I wanted CMA CGM Group to rally around Lebanese students by offering them the opportunity to receive an outstanding international education at the prestigious French business school, HEC Paris. This long-term partnership will also strengthen historical ties between France and Lebanon.

Rodolphe Saadé, CEO, CMA CGM

This new program is entitled “The CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Lebanon", and will help cover the tuition and living expenses of Lebanese students selected on the basis of academic and social criteria. This project will allow Lebanese leaders of the future to return to their home country after completing their studies in France with a wealth of international experience and the opportunity to join major international companies, thus contributing to their country's development.signature

Each year, contributions from our donors allow us to increase the number of scholarship students and attract the best international students. The diversity of cultures, backgrounds, and viewpoints in our student body creates a unique and dynamic environment at HEC Paris. In 2018, a first scholarship scheme for Lebanese students was created thanks to the generous support of Nicolas Garzouzi (H.92).
We would like to thank all our donors and corporate patrons who allow us to attract talented students and train responsible leaders in an increasingly open and multicultural society.

This new program will allow us to continue to welcome high-potential Lebanese students who would not have been able to access our high-quality education without financial assistance. We are convinced that this international diversity is a true asset for our community.

Delphine Colson (H.94), Executive Director, HEC Foundation
