Zarmina, Afghanistan
The programme opened a new world for me where I can take my studies to the next level, grow stronger and have a future.
When Afghanistan was taken over by the Taliban, I passed my final semester’s exam wearing a burqa, going to the university accompanied by my father, who had to wait outside while I finished my exams.
After my final exams, I thought the world had come to an end for me as I could see no future for myself, but thanks to the Imagine Fellowship that has all changed. The programme opened a new world for me where I can take my studies to the next level, grow stronger and have a future.
I miss my home and family, but I am growing stronger and developing the self-confidence I need to define a clear goal for my future.
