Summer Student Story
The program provided me with thought-provoking insights that really helped me shape my own understanding on the energy sector and climate change issues.
With raising concerns surrounding environmental issues in the 21st century, understanding how climate change affects business becomes crucial.
I was a penultimate law student majoring in business law at Sorbonne University in Paris, and I wanted to acquire an in-depth insight in business, therefore the Business and Climate Change program came as the perfect supplement for my education.
This program dealt primarily with how financial institutions work hand-in-hand with the energy sector to leverage sustainable development. As the energy sector experiences a structural turmoil, the lecturers taught us how this radical change can act as a lever for big corporations to go green.
Besides, Professor Gauthier's expertise in the field was a major advantage that our class benefited from, as he knew very well how to explain the different stakes surrounding climate change.
Furthermore, working together with brilliant minds from across the world has broaden my knowledge, not only from an education/professional perspective, but also from a relational standpoint, which I am very grateful for. The small class-size also made it easier for participants to speak up and to bond together.
I believe that any student could benefit from the HEC Paris expertise in business. The school's motto is "apprendre à oser" which in English translates to "learning to dare" -- and I truly live by this message as knowledge enables you to bring positive contributions. So, if you are ever in the lookout for an international business experience during your summer holidays, HEC Paris is definitely the place to be !
