HEC Paris Executive Masters
The HEC Paris Executive Masters and Executive Masters of Science have been specifically designed to meet the needs of senior managers, executives and functional or operational leaders, who wish to develop their expertise and strengthen their managerial skills.
The modular format of our degree programs enables you to study and follow the program without compromising your professional activities. The programs are run in French or English (for around twenty participants), at a flexible pace of approximately one week per month over a period of one year, either in face-to-face or online formats. Developing and writing a professional thesis is an integral part of each program.

On average, you can apply for the programs between 6 months and 1 month before they begin. Registrations are generally closed 1 month before the beginning of the program.

How to apply for Executive Masters?
These degree programs are run over a period of 13 to 16 months and enable participants to specialize in an area of management. They are aimed at senior managers, executives, leaders, and functional or operational managers, with 5 years of professional experience, who wish to develop their expertise and perfect their managerial skills.
Candidates can only apply twice for the same program.
Admission requirements
Holders of the following degrees or diplomas may apply :
- Engineering degree - recognized by the ‘Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs’ (official CTI list)
- Degree from a School of Management authorized to deliver the national grade of Master (official CEFDG list)
- Third cycle university degree (DEA, DESS, Master…) or a professional diploma that corresponds to the Baccalauréat + 5 years of study
- M1 level degree or equivalent, for applicants with at least 3 years of managerial experience
- Diploma registered at level 7 by the RNCP (National Directory of Certificate Programs)
- International degrees equivalent to those mentioned above
- Former degrees equivalent to those mentioned above
- Exemptions are possible under certain conditions
Selection process
- Applications are assessed according to the criteria mentioned previously
- Preliminary interview with a Program Advisor
- Submission of application file
- The application file is validated by the Academic Director of the program.
- Selection Committee : management aptitude test and interview
- A B1 TOEIC level in English is recommended but not mandatory. It will enable you, for example, to understand certain documents/case studies written in English, as well as certain English-speaking facilitators who may take part in the program. Once your application has been completed and validated, the HEC Paris Language Resource Center will be happy to help you take the necessary steps and will offer you a free TOEIC test (one test only).
The admissions jury will make the final decision on admission.
Executive Master programs last between 13 to 16 months and are organized in two parts:
Face-to-face courses (the location may vary depending on the program), combined with individual work in the company of the participant. Please note that most training modules include evening work or conferences.
Depending on the program, the following evaluation methods are used: case studies, business cases, serious games, quizzes; "field" analyses; individual or group work...
The realization of a professional thesis, with the guidance of an HEC Paris professor, is the final assessment of the program. The thesis is defended before a jury and should focus an issue faced by the participant’s company.
Depending on the program, the following learning methods can be used: case studies, business cases, serious games, simulations, workshops, "field" analyses, company visits, testimonials from experts, analysis models and tools, theoretical input and practical application, individual or group work, interactive discussions, co-development or co-construction, tutoring, mentoring, virtual classes, distance or face-to-face learning, etc.
