DRIVING INDIVIDUAL AND ORGANISATIONAL SUCCESS THROUGH LEADERSHIP

After obtaining a law degree and completing an MBA, Remi Adebonojo dedicated more than 25 years to providing consulting services in the investment banking sector. This role entailed delivering comprehensive transformation, regulatory, and organisational change guidance, planning, and implementation to global financial services clients. He also founded RESILIGENT, a boutique leadership coaching and training company. In this interview he speaks about his motivations for following the Executive MSc in Change Leadership and his experience of the programme.

What made you decide to follow the Executive MSc in Change Leadership program?

Throughout my career, I have always been especially passionate about the human dimension of change. I was motivated to become a more effective agent of change and deepen my understanding of change management as a professional practice. So, I was looking for a programme that would offer cutting-edge knowledge, practical experience, and a diverse cohort and network. HEC Paris is a world-renowned business school and this programme captured my attention because of its comprehensive curriculum, and the opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field.

What aspects of the program did you appreciate the most?

The Executive MSc in Change Leadership at HEC Paris provided an extraordinary mix of accomplished teaching faculty and guest speakers who had excelled academically and brought valuable lived experiences to the table. The diverse range of events, thinking, and approaches enriched my learning and enabled me to forge a lifelong network that feels like family.

Do you think that the experience has changed you?

The programme transformed my worldview, elevating my self-awareness and challenging me to examine the perspectives I bring to the world. Each module facilitated my personal growth, helping me become more in touch with my purpose and identity. While my initial focus was on expanding my understanding of change management and leadership, the experience ultimately moulded me into a well-rounded, self-reflective, and empathetic individual, fully equipped to navigate change both professionally and personally. This newfound confidence inspired me to pursue my passion for addressing the human element of change.

What are the most important things you have learned?

The programme provided invaluable insights into my identity, values, and how I fit within a broader ecosystem. This transformative experience has empowered me with the skills needed to create lasting, meaningful change in our ever-evolving global landscape. As a result, I am now adept at unveiling insights and fostering self-awareness in others, ultimately catalysing growth and development across various systems - be it on an individual, team, organisational, or cultural level.

What are the next steps for you?

Since completing the programme, I have successfully built RESILIGENT into a brand operating in six countries across three continents. As an accredited coach and member of the Forbes Coaches Council, I strive to continue growing RESILIGENT and extending our impact on organisations globally. I hope to empower as many leaders and teams as possible, helping them develop the resilience and agility required to thrive in our ever-evolving world.
