Inequalities are at the forefront of today’s public and policy debate. There could hardly be a more pressing time to understand how inequalities arise, which one’s matter, why they matter and how they could be addressed. We see inequalities all the time, whether at schools, job offices, hospitals, traveling around the world or even in a single city – or when skimming through the news. But we still lack a clear understanding of the role that businesses play to affect inequalities. In this course, we take a step back and ask: how are different kinds of inequalities related, what are the big economic and psychological forces that create (and sustain) them, may it make sense for businesses to engage in solving the inequality challenges, and if yes, what would be the right mix of business policies to tackle them?

FRENCH COURSE
Business leaders who are fluent in one or more languages are increasingly important assets to their companies. HEC provides international students the opportunity to learn or master French in a French speaking environment. French is optional for all exchange students
As an international business school, HEC Paris welcomes students from all over the world. Almost one hundred nationalities live on the campus. It's a fantastic opportunity to discover other cultures and to share exceptional moments, and it's important that students can communicate as effectively as possible with each other.
The aim of the HEC Paris Learning Center of Languages is to help students learn or strengthen the language(s) of their choice, by providing a wide range of I.T. and print resources.
MiM students do not need to speak French to enroll in the program as all core courses and most electives are taught in English. However, some knowledge of French can be useful to enjoy the full HEC experience, become professionally bicultural and optimize networking opportunities with French students and alumni. This is why HEC Paris offers French language classes free of charge to its international students, including an Intensive French Language & Culture Academy in January.
Students may also register for the HEC Paris French School (TEF certificate – all levels) in August. This is an exceptional opportunity to learn French and to live in the very heart of Paris before joining the campus.
