Society History:
The society was created in 2000 to gather together all of the musicians on campus. Ever since, the association has tried to develop their equipment and opportunities to perform. For the last 4 years, one of the most popular events which the society organised is the ‘New Kids on the Rock’, which other business schools are invited to participate in. Rock association alumni are also welcomed back every year to listen to some jams with the current group and share their interest in music.
The Mission:
Rock Association is the music society of campus, allowing members to play and meet each other in a creative studio space whenever they please. Access to studio equipment, Café des Arts of the BDA and bars around the school, music festivals and jam sessions means that student can enjoy music together at HEC.
Key Events:
- At the end of the year 'New Kids on the Rock' takes place in conjunction with ESSEC and ESCP.
- March-April sees the chance to participate in the FUPS (festival of Paris-Saclay) and the MANE (festival organised by EM Lyon).
Why Join the Society?
- The association is one of the only groups on campus which actively promotes rock, jazz and other music genres. Thanks to this space, musicians on campus can meet up and play in front of their friends at several events. Access to a studio all week allows musicians to express and enjoy their talents 24/7!
Members:
There are approximately 30 active members and 8 on the committee. There is no maximum number of members so the association is always open to newcomers.
