Intergenerational solidarity event

In late November, around twenty HEC graduates met at the HEC Alumni Association offices to discuss the themes of solidarity and equal opportunity, key values for the HEC Foundation’s mission.

Fondation - rencontre generations solidaires

The goal of the event was to highlight the various initiatives to promote equal opportunity, whether created by a Club, HEC class, or the School and Foundation’s teams.

For over 10 years, HEC Paris and the Foundation have been putting mechanisms in place to support and assist students and make our high-quality courses accessible. Since 2008, 4,000 needs-based scholarships have been offered to HEC students and 1,600 scholarships awarded to students in preparatory class.

The HEC Paris Equal Opportunity Delegate, Hélène Bermond, attended the event to present all the School’s initiatives in the area of social diversity and share the latest developments.

The School is extremely committed to people from modest backgrounds, whether as students with us or before they arrive. We have a whole range of support programs for high school and preparatory class students.

Hélène Bermond, Equal Opportunity Manager at HEC Paris

But as we all know, all this assistance would not be possible without help and generosity from donors. Many of them have been involved in supporting young people in high school or preparatory classes and during their studies at HEC, and since the pandemic, we have seen a large number of collective initiatives.
We were therefore delighted to invite three Alumni to this event, to talk about two solidarity initiatives that they are working on to support the HEC Foundation and HEC Paris students: Elisabeth Laverge (H.75), Anthony Shea (H.68) and Michel de Fabiani (H.67), representatives from the intergenerational club Generation Share and the H.67 class.

Lastly, Mr Nicolas Baum (E.14) and Mr Benjamin Poyet-Vicarad concluded the event by informing the Alumni about certain specific ways of giving to the Foundation, which are often lesser known. It was an opportunity for the graduates to get all the answers to any questions they might have about legacies and donations.
We would like to thank all the speakers and participants at this event for their attendance and contributions. It is always a pleasure for the Foundation team to share these friendly moments of exchange.
